Kesher is an organization whose innovative service was
established in 1993, designed specifically to help parents
of children with all types of disabilities - physical,
mental, intellectual, sensorial and emotional and chronic
illnesses, to cope better with the everyday difficulties
of raising their child. One phone call connects them to
a professional whose expertise lies in applying a problem-solving
approach. Kesher’s comprehensive information, counseling
and support services connect parents to the service system.
Our policy is to provide a tailor-made solution until they
reach the optimal solution. This approach makes Kesher
tremendously important and is greatly appreciated by parents.
The organization has branches throughout the country -
Tel Aviv, Jerusalem, Haifa - in partnership with Municipal
authorities and other organizations. The branches serve
as centers for training of social work students from various
Universities and Colleges.
For its successful projects and innovative approach Kesher
founder and director, Ms Maya Goldman, was awarded the
Prime Minister’s Prize for the Protection of the Child
in 1997, and in 2003 the Leonore & Larry Zusman-JDC
Prize for excellence in the field of social services in
Israel.
